Walmart Employee Nabbed for Using Customer's Debit Card

Renita Johnson is accused of cleaning out the bank account of a woman who left her card in an ATM machine inside the store.

A employee was arrested for theft Thursday after she cleaned out the bank account of a customer who accidentally left her debit card in an ATM machine inside the Plainfield store.

Renita R. Johnson, 40, 8114 Concord Lane, Justice, who is a zone supervisor for the discount store, 12690 Route 59, was booked into Will County jail on charges of theft and identity theft.

Sgt. Mike Fisher said Johnson stole more than $400 from the customer, who left the card behind and didn't end the transaction. Police were able to determine her identity because of surveillance video taken by the ATM machine and inside the store, Fisher said.
