Kendall County Sheriff's Police are looking for a convicted sex offender who is accused of failing to register.

Police said Robert Dodero, who is homeless, is required to register weekly with the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. He's accused of violating the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act, according to police.

Dodero was convicted in 2007 in Cook County of unlawful possession of child pornography, police said. In 2012, he racked up another conviction, this time for failing to register as a sex offender in Kendall County.

Police said the new charges were secured on Nov. 27 after Dodero once again allegedly failed to register. His bond is set at $50,000.

Police are asking anyone with information on Dodero's location to contact the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Section at (630) 553-7500 x1107, or Crimestoppers at (630) 553-5999.

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.

Sex offenders can be anywhere, we must take any initiative on how to deal with them and how to protect ourselves from them.We should be secured from this kind of unnecessary treatment. Another suggestion to have a certain safety application on android phone that helps track sex offenders on your phone, and just a click on a panic button it could create a conference call to a 24/7 call center, a safety network and could escalate a call to a nearest 911 if it's a real emergency, check this site out for more information:http://safetrec.com/about/.
