Lightning Strike Causes Attic Fire in Lakewood Falls

Saturday afternoon's storm to blame for blaze, investigators say.

Lightning struck a house in the 21000 block of Juneau Drive during a thunderstorm Saturday afternoon, causing a fire in the attic and leaving the home uninhabitable, according to the Herald-News.

The Lockport Township Fire Department responded to the blaze at 3:49 p.m.

The fire was contained to the attic, but heavy water damage left the home uninhabitable, Deputy Fire Chief John Kure told the newspaper. Investigators determined the fire was caused by lightning. Click here to read the full article.
