Man Airlifted After Lockport Street Rollover

The van rolled multiple times before winding up in a ditch, officials said.

A driver had to be extricated after his minivan rolled several times on Lockport Street Monday afternoon.

Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said the crash happened around 4 p.m. on Lockport Street about 1/4-mile west of Steiner (Drauden) Road. Stratton said the van rolled over multiple times before coming to rest in a ditch.

Stratton said it took about 12 minutes to extricate the man, who was airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in fair condition.

According to an Illinois State Police spokeswoman, a second vehicle was also involved in the crash. She said police were still on the scene late Monday afternoon, and no additional details were immediately available.

Stratton said no one else was injured in the crash.
