Minor Injuries in 119th Street Crash
A woman and a 9-year-old child were taken to Copley Hospital following Sunday afternoon crash in Plainfield.
Two people were taken to Rush-Copley Hospital in good condition Sunday following a three-car crash on 119th Street at Route 30, according to fire officials.
John Stratton said two cars became entangled during the crash and struck an eastbound van carrying a family of eight shortly before 12:30 p.m.
Illinois State Police said no details were available Sunday afternoon on exactly how the crash occurred.

According to Stratton, a 2008 Nissan Versa carrying a mother and 9-year-old child collided with a 1997 Acura carrying a man and woman. The two vehicles then struck the van, which was at the stop sign at 119th Street and Route 30.
“These two cars hit and ended up hitting [the van] head on,” Stratton said.

Then 9-year-old and the female passenger from the Acura were taken to Copley Hospital for observation, Stratton said.
“They were in good condition,” he said.
The family riding in the van — which included a mother, father and six kids between the ages of 7 and 14 — all refused treatment, and were able to drive away from the scene in the van despite some front-end damage, Stratton said.
“There are conflicting reports” on how the crash occurred, Stratton said.
119th Street was down to one lane for about an hour following the crash.
A representative for the Illinois State Police District 5 headquarters in Joliet said more information on the crash will be released Monday.
