Motorcyclist Dies in Minooka Crash

A 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash Tuesday afternoon in unincorporated Minooka, police said.

The man's motorcycle was heading north on Ridge Road behind a Chevrolet Blazer driven by a 17-year-old girl when the Blazer made a left turn onto westbound Holt Road, according to Kendall County Sheriff's police. The motorcycle struck the driver's side of the vehicle.

Police did not immediately release the name of the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash was reported around 3:33 p.m., police said.

Kendall County Deputy Bryan Harl said the driver of the Blazer and a male passenger, also 17, were unhurt in the crash.

Police were advising drivers to avoid the area of Ridge and Holt roads as the crash investigation continues. Harl said he anticipated the road closure could last several hours.

According to Harl, no charges were pending against the driver of the Blazer.
