New York Man Commits Suicide After Channahon Child Porn Arrest: Report

Suresh Manjanath, who reportedly volunteered as a youth soccer coach, died early Sunday in Queens.

A New York man who allegedly traveled to the Chicago area to have sex with young children and distribute child porn reportedly committed suicide two days after being released from the Will County jail.

Suresh Manjanath, 45, of Tarrytown, was arrested last week in Channahon after an undercover sting by the Attorney General's Office's High Tech Crimes Bureau. Investigators said Manjanath traded child porn in online chatrooms and had traveled to the area to arrange to have sex with minors.

Manjanath, who reportedly volunteered as an assistant youth soccer coach, jumped from a building to his death early Sunday in Queens, New York, Westchester 12 News reported.

Will County jail records show Manjanath was released Friday afternoon after posting 10 percent of $1 million bond.
