Pair Burglarized Plainfield House, Police Say

Keith Bibbs and Christopher Williams have been charged with felony residential burglary in connection with the break-in in the 22800 block of Weinhold.

Two teens who allegedly broke into a Plainfield home Sunday night and stole electronic equipment and alcohol have been arrested by Plainfield police.

Keith L. Bibbs, 19, 14831 S. Hawthorne Circle, Plainfield, and Christopher M. Williams, 17, 433 Butterfield, Romeoville, have been charged with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, according to a Plainfield Police Department press release.

The victims were returning to their home in the 22800 block of Weinhold at about 8 p.m. Sunday when they saw the pair were fleeing in tan, four-door car, police said. Bibbs and Williams were stopped and arrested in the 24000 block of Champion Drive a short time later.

A search of the victims' residence determined that electronic equipment and bottles of alcohol had been taken, the release said. Those items were retrieved from the car in which the pair were driving, police said.

The homeowners apparently knew the suspects, and police said Bibbs and Williams admitted Sunday night that they had committed the burglary. Detective Sgt. Kevin McQuaid said they have not been implicated in any other burglary.

"They knew the people so it might be an isolated incident," he said.

However, if anyone has additional information, they are asked to call McQuaid at 815-267-7209 or Detective Colin Mulacek at 815-439-7654.

Bibbs and Williams are being held in the Will County jail. No bond had been set as of 12:30 p.m. Monday.

I think you're thinking of Kapri Bibbs. I don't know if there is a family connection or not.

Keith is Kapri's older brother.
