Police ticketed driver after his vehicle knocked woman to the ground.

A 72-year-old woman was injured late Thursday morning after being hit by a vehicle while walking across Van Dyke Road at Norwood Drive.

The victim was transported by Plainfield Ambulance to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where she was treated for her injuries.  The woman’s condition was not available at press time.

According to Sgt. Eric Munson of the Plainfield Police Department, Richard Fobes, 62, of Plainfield was ticketed for failure to yield right-of-way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.  Fobes told police he did not see the woman as he turned left onto Van Dyke Road from Norwood Drive, Munson said.
