72-Year-Old Plainfield Man Faces Child Porn Charge

John R. Baker was arrested by Will County Sheriff's police Thursday morning.

A Plainfield man is being held on child pornography charges after Will County Sheriff’s police executed a search warrant at his home on Thursday morning.

John R. Baker, 72, of the 21000 block of Aspen Lane, was booked into the county jail on charges of aggravated child pornography.

Deputy Chief Ken Kaupas said Baker was arrested without incident and is accused of downloading child pornography onto a computer in the home.

"I can't get into specifics," Kaupas said of the investigation. "Suffice it to say, we developed enough probable cause to go into the household with a search warrant."

Kaupas said a computer containing pornographic images of children was seized from the home and will undergo a "very specific and comprehensive examination by the sheriff's computer crimes unit."

Baker is scheduled to appear in Will County court on Friday afternoon.
