Plainfield Blotter: Man Charged with DUI; Bus Barn Burglarized

Aug. 17

Jason R. Ballarini, 32, of the 15000 block of Joliet Road, Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police and booked into the Will County jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and local traffic ordinance violation, according to jail records.

Aug. 5


Someone entered the service door of a garage in the 16000 block of Serenity Drive and entered two unlocked vehicles. Insurance papers were missing from one car and $6 was missing from the other, according to Will County Sheriff's police.

An unknown person or persons entered the First Student Bus property at 31W330 Schoger Dr., Wheatland Township, and removed catalytic converters from six buses. The converters, which were cut from the exhaust system, were worth an estimated $18,000, police said.

Aug. 3


An unknown person or persons entered a pickup truck in the 16000 block of Lewood Drive and stole a toolbox containing hand tools, a wallet, cordless drill, drill bit set and an iPod, police said.

Someone entered three vehicles in the 24000 block of Easy Street and stole two large tool bags containing several hand tools and a diamond and ruby Tiffany ring, according to Will County sheriff's police.

Four male juveniles were taken into custody after allegedly trespassing at Vulcan, 22933 W. Hassert Blvd. in Wheatland Township and setting off two 20-pound fire extinguishers and throwing them into a pit, police said. Two of the juveniles made statements that they had been on the property on previous occasions and had caused damage to the property, according to the Will County Sheriff's Department. The juveniles were released at the scene to their parents pending charges.

An unknown person broke out the back window of two vehicles parked in the 14000 block of Hemingway Circle, according to Will County Sheriff's police.
