Plainfield Police Blotter: Car Rams Mailbox; Arrests for DUI, Stolen License Plate Sticker

Arrests and incidents reported by Plainfield police, other agencies, Dec. 5-10.

Dec. 5

Someone used a vehicle to cause damage to a mailbox and 30 landscaping bricks in the 13000 block of Jane Circle, according to Will County Sheriff's police.

Richard Rodriguez, 27, of the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue, Chicago, was arrested by Plainfield police at 2:27 p.m. at Renwick Road and Route 59 and charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license, police said. Bond amount was $1,500.

Dec. 7

Daniel A. Riggs, 37, of the 0-100 block of 13th Street in St. Charles was arrested by Will County Sheriff's police at Hassert and Naperville/Plainfield Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign, police said.

Mario Amaya, 46, of the 900 block of Bishop Avenue, Aurora, was arrested by Plainfield police at 8:27 p.m. at Joliet Road and Route 59 and charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license, police said. Bond amount was $2,000.

Dec. 8

Kenneth Ruff, 57, of the 2300 block of Chicago Street in Plainfield was arrested at 10:44 a.m. at Lockport Street and Wallin Drive and charged with violating the motor vehicle anti-theft law after allegedly stealing his neighbor's license plate sticker, police said. Sgt. Mike Fisher said an officer stopped Ruff after noticing that his license plates were expired, but the sticker wasn't. Upon questioning, Ruff claimed he mistakenly put a sticker registered to one of his other vehicles on the car, Fisher said — but the plate number on the sticker was registered to another Plainfield resident. "It goes back to someone who lives about nine blocks away from [Ruff]," Fisher said. Bond amount was $1,500.

Dec. 9

Raymond Doran, 37, of the 15000 block of Freedom Way, Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police at 7:21 p.m. at his home and booked into the Will County jail on a charge of domestic battery, according to police.

Dec. 10

David DaFond, 50, of the 1400 block of Broadlawn, Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police at 2:13 p.m. at the Plainfield Police Department on an in-state warrant, police said. Bond amount was $2,500.

George Garcia, 21, of the 5000 block of 29th Court, Cicero, was arrested by Plainfield police at 8:03 p.m. at Lockport Street and Route 59 and charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license, police said. Bond amount was $1,500.
