Plainfield Fire Dept: Keep Hydrants Clear of Snow

Clear the way for emergency responders.

More snow could be headed this way Tuesday, and the Plainfield Fire Protection District is asking residents to help keep hydrants clear during extreme weather.

"When clearing driveways, sidewalks and parking lots of snow please don’t bury fire hydrants under piles of snow," the fire department said in a press release. "It is best to keep an area of 3 feet clear in every direction around a fire hydrant. With everyone’s help we can make sure fire hydrants are accessible for emergency access."
