  • Krystina D. Raddatz, a Plainfield Central High School graduate, was pronounced dead at about 7:35 p.m. the scene of the crash, police said.

The condition of the motorcycle driver, who was taken to a local hospital, was not known, State Police Master Sgt. Fred Rivera said. The truck driver was not injured.

Preliminary investigation results indicate the truck was in the far right lane of westbound 1-80 when it collided with the motorcycle as it was entering the interstate from the southbound Harlem Avenue ramp at about 6:25 p.m., Rivera said.

It is not yet known if the motorcycle driver misjudged his speed or the distance, but the bike struck the right, front corner of the semi, causing the driver to lose control, he said.

No charges had been filed or tickets issued as of Saturday night.

The crash forced one lane of westbound I-80 to be closed until about 9 p.m. Saturday.

District 202 Director of Community Relations Tom Hernandez confirmed Monday that Raddatz graduated from Plainfield Central in 2009.
