Plainfield Man, 29, Accused of Soliciting Teen for Sex

Michael L. Kolodziej was arrested and charged with indecent solicitation of a minor, Cmdr. Anthony Novak said.

A Plainfield man has been arrested on a charge of soliciting a 16-year-old girl for sex via text messages, Plainfield police Cmdr. Anthony Novak said.

Michael L. Kolodziej, 29, was charged with indecent solicitation of a child, a Class 2 felony.

Novak said police received a third-party call at about 11 p.m. Saturday saying someone in the house was making inappropriate sexual advances toward a teenage girl who also lived at the residence. When police arrived, the victim flagged them from a window and they observed a naked Kolodziej walking down a stairway, Novak said.

The girl had told her boyfriend about the text messages Kolodziej had sent to her, in which he requested she perform sexual acts with him, he said. The boyfriend then told his parents, who notified police, Novak said.

There was no sexual contact between the suspect and the victim, he said.

The 16-year-old is the daughter of the man who had been living with Kolodziej's mother at the same residence for about six months, Novak said. The couple had broken up and the girl and her father were in the process of moving, he said. Kolodziej was living there as well, Novak said.

A third unidentified person was in the house at the time of the incident but was unaware of what was happening, he said.
