Plainfield Man Linked to Series of Burglaries in La Salle County

A Plainfield man arrested in late December with for is also facing burglary charges stemming from a series of break-ins in Peru, LaSalle and Ottawa.

Alec V. Klocek, 19, 22713 Bass Lake Road, is next due in court on June 2 in connection with burglaries that occurred between Dec. 19 and 23 at Amici Ristorante in Peru; Fabric Care Center, Kotecki’s Service Station and Twin City Restaurant in La Salle; and Sunfield Restaurant, the Hi-Way Restaurant and Superior Street Coin Laundry in Ottawa, according to a story in the La Salle News Tribune

He was arrested on Dec. 29 by Joliet police for trying to break in to Metro Bar & Grill on Essington Road in Joliet. He faces charges of attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property

Two alleged cohorts in the La Salle County cases were also arrested and charged in the Joliet case.

Jack D. Carpenter, 51, of Joliet, pleaded guilty in La Salle County Circuit Court Friday to three counts of burglary, the New Tribune story said. He was sentenced by Judge H. Chris Ryan to three concurrent 10-year prison terms and $1,999 in restitution.

In the Joliet case, Carpenter was charged with attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property.

Angelica Galan, 47, of Berwyn, pleaded guilty to being the get-away driver in the LaSalle County cases and will be sentenced on June 17, the La Salle paper said. 

She was charged with possession of drug equipment when she was picked up with Klocek and Carpenter in Joliet.
