Plainfield Police Blotter: Teen Charged with Forgery; Arrests for Drugs, Retail Theft

Teen charged with forgery

Jeremy N. Brown, 17, of the 24000 block of Cropland Drive, Plainfield, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the Will County jail on a felony forgery charge.

Joliet Police Lt. Brian Dupuis said Brown received a prescription for a nasal spray during a Sept. 30 visit to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, but when he took the prescription to be filled at a Walgreens store on Ingalls Avenue, it contained a second prescription for the painkiller Norco.

Dupuis said the pharmacist believed the prescription to be a fake and contacted police. After the pharmacist identified Brown in a photo lineup, police arrested the teen at his Plainfield home. In an interview, Brown admitted to writing the phony prescription, Dupuis said.

Bond information for Brown was not available Wednesday.

Drug charges

Derrick J. Barnes, 20, of the 16000 block of Burgundy Drive, Plainfield, was arrested by Will County Sheriff's police and booked into the Will County jail on charges of manufacture/delivery of 15-100 grams of heroin or an analogous substance and knowingly damaging property, police said. Bond amount was set at $120,000. 

Theft arrest

Matthew A. Bean, 22, of the 2500 block of Stony Brook in unincorporated Plainfield was arrested by Will County Sheriff's police and booked into the county jail on charges of retail theft, police said. Bond information was not available Wednesday.
