Plainfield Police Plan Halloween Seatbelt Enforcement

Funded by IDOT, the campaign begins Oct. 26.

The Plainfield Police Department will conduct a "Click It or Ticket" campaign in conjunction with Halloween from Oct. 26 to 31.

During this timeframe, Plainfield police officers will focus a large amount of their efforts on occupant restraint violations, and will take a “zero tolerance” approach, police said in a press release. Plainfield Police Officers will conduct enforcement during daytime and nighttime hours, both from vehicles and on foot at various locations throughout the village. Anyone stopped for failing to buckle up can expect a citation.

The campaign is funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
