Plainfield Woman Accused of Punching Officer After Bar Fight

Mariah Perez is accused of punching a police officer in the face as he attempted to break up a fight outside a Romeoville bar.

A fight in the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings led to five arrests early Saturday, according to Romeoville police.

Deputy Chief Steven Lucchesi said police responded to a report of a fight outside the bar, 74 S. Weber Rd., at around 1:20 a.m. According to police, the manager asked a group of patrons to leave after they exhibited "rowdy" behavior inside Buffalo Wild Wings. After they got outside, a fight ensued, Lucchesi said.

"While [an officer] was trying to get everyone calmed down, two girls started to fight," Lucchesi said.

Police said one woman, 20-year-old Mariah Perez of the 20000 block of Ardmore Circle in Plainfield, punched the officer in the face as he attempted to break up the fight. The officer suffered minor injuries, Lucchesi said.

Perez faces charges of aggravated battery, a felony, and obstructing an officer. According to Will County jail records, Perez was released Nov. 11 after posting $2,000 bail.

Another ejected bar patron, 22-year-old Richard Rowe of Romeoville, is also accused of striking an officer during the incident. The officer, who was hit in the hand, was uninjured, Lucchesi said. Rowe is charged with battery and resisting an officer, police said.

Three 19-year-olds — Brice Kittle, Aire Garcia and Amy Delacruz, all of Romeoville — were charged with underage drinking.

"They all had alcohol on their breath and admitted they had been drinking," Lucchesi said. Police said there is no evidence they were served alcohol at Buffalo Wild Wings.

"The admission was that they were drinking beforehand," Lucchesi said.
