Plainfield Woman Killed in Collision with Semi on Icy Oswego Road

Police say the afternoon snow likely played a role in the collision in which Cindy Borgra's minivan crossed into the opposite lane of oncoming traffic.

A 51-year-old woman was killed Thursday afternoon after her minivan crossed into an oncoming lane of traffic in Oswego and was struck by a semi track trailer, Oswego police said.

Icy, snowy conditions are believed to have contributed to the accident in which Cindy Borgra, 23420 W. Link Lane, was critically injured, police said. Borgra was transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 30, west of Goodwin Drive. Borgra was driving east on U.S. 30 when her minivan went into the opposite lane and was struck by a truck driven by Joe Clark, 68, of Oswego, Detective Rob Sherwood said.
