Police Blotter: Man Charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

Saturday

Warrants, disorderly conduct

Cedric S. Hazika, 23, of the 22000 block of West Miller Drive, , was arrested by Bolingbrook police on warrants for failure to appear in court and on a charge of disorderly conduct, according to Will County booking records. He was transported to the Will County jail, and bail was set at $750.

Friday

Aggravated DUI charge

Guver Sancen, 31, of the 2100 block of Rossiter Street in unincorporated Plainfield, was taken into custody by Will County Sheriff's police on charges of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle, police said. Bail was set at $2,500.

Teen charged with burglary

Cory S. Couch, 17, of the 1300 block of Lasser Drive, Plainfield, was arrested by Joliet police, charged with burglary and transported to the Will County jail, police said.

Domestic battery 

Lester Wayne Campbell, 35, of the 20000 block of West Barrington Lane, Plainfield, was taken into custody by Will County Sheriff's police on a charge of domestic battery, police said.

Thursday

Failure to register

Kevin A. Simpson, 23, of the 13000 block of Oakdale Circle, Plainfield, was arrested by Will County Sheriff's Office on charges of failure to register as a sex offender. Will County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said the arrest stems from charges filed in June 2010. A warrant for Simpson's arrest was issued in November 2011, Hoffmeyer said, but officers attempting to locate Simpson at his Plainfield home found the house vacant. Officers were able to track Simpson down last week and take him into custody, she said. 

Man booked on cocaine charges

Jesse V. McCormick, 26, of the 23000 block of Vintage Knoll, Plainfield, was arrested by Joliet police on a charge of manufacture/delivery of 15 or more grams of cocaine, according to Will County booking records. Bail was set at $4,000.

Wednesday

Man accused of battery

Roger Allen Thompson, 52, of the 14100 block of Monticello Circle, Plainfield, was taken into custody by Will County Sheriff's police on a charge of domestic battery, police said. Bail was set at $2,000.
