Police Blotter: Obstruction Arrest, Rash of Car Burglaries

Arrests made by Plainfield police, other agencies, July 9-23.

Car burglaries

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 22000 block of West Norwich Court and stole a pair of Revo sunglasses, according to the Will County Sheriff’s office. A thief or thieves struck again on the same block, entering an unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS unit.

Two more cars were burglarized in the 14000 block of Oregon, sheriff’s police said. A GPS unit and stereo face plate were stolen from one car, while a Derby-style hat was stolen from another.

Stolen purse

Sheriff’s police said someone entered a residence and stole a purse off the sofa.

July 15

Business break-in

A thief or thieves broke into the office at , 23807 W. Andrew Rd., and stole cash, according to Will County Sheriff’s police.

GPS taken

Sheriff’s police said someone entered a vehicle and stole a GPS unit and a blue tooth.

July 17

Attempted break-in

According to sheriff’s police, a would-be victim observed two while males attempt to break into a truck in the 2500 block of West Prairie Hill Lane via video surveillance.

July 22

DUI charge

Gregory Jones, 48, of the 11000 block of South Winterberry Lane, Plainfield, was arrested by at 9:43 a.m. in the 24000 block of West 127th Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.

July 23

Obstruction arrest

Sebastian William Frank, 19, of the 1000 block of Hudson Drive, Joliet, was arrested by Plainfield police and taken to the Will County jail on charges of obstruction of justice/destroying evidence and a warrant for failure to appear in court, police said.
