Plainfield Man Charged in Sex Assault Case

Jose Aguilera is accused of having sexual contact with a family member while she slept, police say.

A Plainfield man was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting a family member while she slept, Will County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Ken Kaupas said Friday.

Jose R. Aguilera, 27, 13926 Oakdale Drive, was charged with criminal sexual abuse in connection with the assault, which allegedly occurred at Aguilera's home while the 25-year-old victim was asleep, Kaupas said.

Sheriff's police responded to a call at about 4:20 a.m. Thursday and were interviewing the victim when Aguilera returned to the house and was taken into custody, he said.

Aguilera is being held in the Will County jail pending a bond hearing.
