Romeoville Cop Assists in Saving a Life at Scene of Fatal Crash: Report

A 29-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning.

One person died in a wrong-way crash on the Stevenson Expressway early Sunday morning, and another survived thanks to the help of three good samaritans who stopped at the scene, including a Romeoville police officer, ABC 7 Chicago reports.

A 29-year-old man driving the wrong way struck an SUV at around 5:30 a.m. at Lemont Road, according to the report.

The crash is under investigation.

Romeoville cop Woodsman "Woody" Jones, a retired Burbank officer and a Chicago man who wants to join the force all stopped to help Sunday morning when they came on the crash, the Chicago Tribune reports.
