Three People Taken to Hospital After Route 59 Crash

Four cars were involved in the chain-reaction accident shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Two children and an elderly man were taken to Rush-Copley hospital in Aurora Sunday following a four-car crash on Route 59, according to fire officials.

Jon Stratton said details were not available Sunday night on what sparked the chain-reaction accident.

The four cars involved in the crash were heading northbound on Route 59 near Oak Street when the accident occurred around 5:44 p.m., Stratton said.

Stratton said three people — an elderly man, an infant and a small child — were taken to the hospital. He did not know the age of the adult, whom he described as an “older gentleman,” but said the man had complained of chest pains. The two children were in good to fair condition, Stratton said.
