Three-Vehicle Crash Snarls Traffic at Route 30, 59

One person was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center for observation after a three-vehicle crash at Route 30 and Route 59 shortly after 3:30 p.m., officials said.

Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said early indications were that a four-door Lexus pulled out in front of a Mercedes, striking it and pushing it into a semi-trailer.

"It was a T-bone-type crash," Stratton said.

The drivers of the Mercedes and semi refused treatment at the scene. The Lexus driver was taken to St. Joe's with non-critical injuries, Stratton said.

As of around 4 p.m., crews were still clearing the scene, he said.
