There are plenty of ways to keep up on news:

Do the same for Downers Grove Patch:

Chris, not to be a jerk, but don't you have anything better to do than rob people and then talk smack to the very people who are now forced to be your neighbor on Patch? Here's a tip kid. Have some humility. Learn to be sorry. You are not entitled to our respect or forgiveness and frankly, your writing makes you sound like a dumb thug. Go educate yourself and maybe that will lead to a life that will not involve victimizing others.

To all "doers of stupid things" like breaking into someones home for a few lousy bucks you "would do anything for" except work. In times past burgulars had some pride and one could rightly assume they would just rob you! These days they may be drug crazed or so twistred in their thinking and value system that they will just as easily kill you, rape your wife or do something as unthinkable. The home owner these days *has to assume the worst* if he is to survive. He doesn't know you! It's not money or stuff he wories about...it's his and his loved ones life! It comes down to a simple case of it's you or him. After the trigger is pulled I'm sure we will all hear how "he was a good boy". An old saying...make me choose, you loose comes to mind. There is no such thing as a simple theft anymore. It has become more complicated and kids who are prone to doing "stupid things" need to really ask themselves if it is worth it. It is a very risky endeavour, I don't mean to pick on these two young men but post hoping any young people reading this understand where the homeowner is coming from. Is the reward worth the risk? I think not.
