Another Plainfield Park District Meeting Location Change

The next meeting will be at the Heritage Professional Center in downtown Plainfield.

There's been another change of venue for the upcoming Plainfield Park District Board of Commissioners meeting.

The park district issued a notice saying that the meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, has been moved to the Heritage Professional Center, 24023 W. Lockport St.

In November, the board voted to switch the meetings to the first Tuesday of the month at the Plainfield Township building. However, the April 1 meeting is the latest in a series of meetings that have been moved back to the Heritage Professional Center.

Interim Executive Director Gene Coldwater said one reason for the charge is the larger capacity at the Heritage Professional Center. He said he would like like to see meetings scheduled there permanently.

"I am hopeful that we can keep our meetings at the HPC to avoid the inconvenience to the public and staff of using different sites," Coldwater said in an email to Patch. "The HPC is a park district facility and it makes sense to me to conduct park district business at our own facility."

The agenda for the April 1 meeting has not yet been posted.
