In the Village of Plainfield, incumbent Mayor Mike Collins and trustees Margie Bonuchi, Jim Racich and Garrett Peck won re-election. Collins faced a challenge from write-in candidate Michael Lambert, who was able to snag nearly 20 percent of the vote, but it wasn't enough to unseat the mayor.

In Plainfield School District, incumbents Michelle Smith and Rod Westfall were able to recapture their seats, while William Slabich Jr. and William Dargan also snagged two four-year spots on the board.

Republicans won big in both Plainfield Township and Wheatland Township. Current trustee Tony Fremarek will become the new Plainfield Township supervisor, while tax collector Matthew Starr will take a trustee spot alongside Ernie Knight, Debbie Kraulidis and incumbent Chuck Willard. Yvonne Sencial Bolton will become the new Plainfield Township collector, and incumbent Highway Commissioner Sam Reichert, Assessor Erin Kjlaich and Clerk Anita Gerardy ran unopposed.

Wheatland Township will get a brand new board. The new GOP slate swept the races, with current clerk Chuck Kern unseating incumbent supervisor (and former Wheatland Township Republican Organization president) Todd Morse, who ran as an Independent. Deputy Clerk Bill Alstrom will take Kern's current spot, while Dave Monaghan will succeed incumbent assessor Kelli Lord (also an Independent candidate this time around). Darren Bennefield, Mike Crockett, Deb Holscher and Raquel Mitchell will become the new Wheatland Township trustees, while Mark Troyanowski unseated Highway Commissioner Dayton Jarnagin. Ben Peterson won the slate's spot for tax collector.

Plainfield Public Library candidates Patricia Lynn Miller, an incumbent, and Vicki Knight, Gretchen Fritz and Samantha Hurtado, all newcomers, will each serve four-term terms on the board. Initially a nine-way race, the field of candidates got considerably smaller after election challenges knocked three contenders off the ballot.

Plainfield Park District candidates Peter Steinys and Janet Silosky ran unopposed after Thomas Breier and Michael Brann withdrew from the race amid election challenges. Breier ran unsuccessfully as a write-in.

Plainfield Fire Protection District candidates William Barnes and James Lehmann were victorious.

Following are results from Plainfield-area races from the Will County Clerk's Office, Kendall County Clerk's Office and Aurora Election Commission
