Carlson Hosts Grand Opening, Back-to-School Event

Dave Carlson, candidate for Will County State’s Attorney, is hosting a back-to-school event at the Grand Opening of his new campaign office.  He is also excited that Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford will be on hand to lend his support and “cut the ribbon” during the day’s festivities, while spending time with Will County residents and their children.

“I’m very excited to be able to help families as they gear up to send their children back to school,” Carlson declared, “and I’m equally excited that Dan Rutherford will be there to support Will County residents.”

The Grand Opening will kick off Saturday August 18 at 1 p.m.  and will include an open house, refreshments, free school supplies for the kids and a chance to meet Carlson and Rutherford.  The office is located at 1100 Essington Road in Joliet.  Those interested in attending can call the Carlson campaign for details and questions at (815) 725-2430.

Carlson, himself the father of two daughters, wanted to do something to reach out to Will County families and make a difference.  He came up with the idea of giving away school supplies as a gesture of solidarity with other parents.

“In these difficult economic times every little bit helps,” Carlson said, referring to the giveaways, “this gives me a chance to help my fellow residents and their children and that’s very important to me.”
