Child safety seat inspections will be conducted by the Plainfield Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 25 at Meijer, 13521 S. Route 59.
The event is sponsored by state Rep. Tom Cross (R-Plainfield), the Illinois Department of Transportation, AAA and Dorel. The National Highway Safety Transportation Administration estimates that in 2008, 244 children under the age of 5 were saved in traffic accidents because child safety seats and adult seat belts were used.
