The Plainfield Police Department is holding a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 25 at the police stain. Any unused or expired medications, including over-the-counter varities, can be dropped off. The goal is to prevent potential misuse or abuse and to keep people from contaminating the water supply by flushing them down the toilet or dumping them in the trash, where they end up in landfills.
