Finnegan's Closed Friday After State Revokes Its Liquor License

No information was available as to why the license was pulled; owner Dale Lewis could not be reached for comment.

Downtown Lockport Street was jammed Friday night, with not a parking space to be had, but one business was not reaping the benefits of the Labor Day weekend.

It was lights out at , 24102 Lockport St., which had its liquor license revoked by the State of Illinois Liquor Control Commission this week.

The revocation is posted on the agency's Web site, but details are not provided as to why the license was pulled. It simply states the business' license number, name, address and that date is was to expire -- in this case, Jan. 31, 2012.

Attempts to reach owner Dale Lewis were unsuccessful Friday night.

A little more than a week earlier, Lewis was helping run the , a craft beer event held on the banks of the DuPage River. The event drew more than 3,000 people and was pulled together by Lewis and owner Steve Caton as a way to raise money for the redevelopment of the riverside recreational known as .

Cmdr. Anthony Novak, who was working downtown Friday night, said he was aware Finnegan's had lost its state liquor license but did not know the reason for the state's action.
