Garbage Crews Still Catching Up After Weather Delays

If your garbage still hasn't been collected, leave your refuse bin by the curb through Saturday.

The village is asking for patience as Waste Management crews continue to work to catch up after weather-related delays this week.

Waste Management crews were out Friday finishing up their Monday and Wednesday routes, according to Village of Plainfield spokeswoman Amy De Boni.

Residents whose normal pickup day is Thursday should expect garbage to be collected Saturday.

All residents whose garbage has not been collected are asked to leave their refuse by the curb through Saturday, De Boni said, since pickup times are varying.

"They are still working," she said at 11 a.m. Friday, saying some residents could still see pickup Friday afternoon. "They have been working fairly late."

Garbage collection was delayed two days this week due to sub-zero temperatures. Recycling will not be picked up until next week in Plainfield, according to De Boni.
