Here's All You Need to Know about Today's Election -- Now Go Vote!

Residents will be choosing candidates for the village, school and fire boards; check Patch tonight for election results.

Sick of seeing those "Vote for" signs in every other yard in town? Well, the day of reckoning has arrived; by 10 or 11 tonight we should know which new faces will be gracing the school, village and fire boards.

You're going to be doing your part, right? The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Will County, and there are only four contested races in which Plainfield residents will be voting.

Of course, turnout is notoriously low for consolidated elections held in April. In both 2009 and 2007, only 18 percent of the electorate bothered casting ballots.
