New Plainfield Dunkin Donuts Proposal Has 'More Traditional Design,' Village Says

Revised plan goes before committee next week.

The Village of Plainfield on Thursday said the developer behind a proposed retail center near Route 59 and Main Street has submitted revised plans for the project.

The "Triangle Shoppes" proposal calls for a retail center with a drive-thru on a half-acre parcel at the corner of Oak, Arnold, and Route 59. The development, which would be adjacent to the Walgreens on Main Street, would have a Dunkin Donuts and two additional storefronts.

"The revised plans have new elevations that reflect a more traditional design," Community Relations Director Amy De Boni said in a press release Thursday.

The project, which has drawn criticism from some residents, is scheduled to be on the May 20 Plan Commission agenda.

The village is still asking residents to submit feedback via its Vision for Division Website.
