No Gas Guzzlers at This Show, Only Green Machines
Nissan LEAF, the first 100 percent electric, zero-emission car, will be displayed along with other 'green' vehicles.

The car show, sponsored by Waste Management and part of the Green Village Lecture Series, will feature the 100 percent electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF, which was recently named the 2011 World Car of the Year.

The LEAF, a five-seat, five-door hatchback, is the first purpose-built, mass-produced electric car with a range of more than 100 miles on a full charge. The vehicle will be on display at the car show, and Nissan representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.
Additional hybrid and highly fuel-efficient vehicles from other local auto dealerships will also be on display.

The Green Village Lecture Series is a partnership between the and the Plainfield Public Library District to host monthly workshops with an environmental focus. Events are held at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Plainfield Public Library.
