Plainfield Garbage Pickup Delayed Again by Weather

Village officials say trash pickup will be delayed two more days, and recycling won't be picked up until next week.

Continued cold weather prevented Waste Management trucks from picking up garbage and recycling for the second day in Plainfield.

Residents shouldn't expect garbage pickup to start until Thursday, and recycling won't be picked up at all this week, according to officials.

The village issued this release late Tuesday afternoon:

"Waste Management was not able to pick up refuse and recycling today. Due to this week’s severe weather, residents with Monday collection will have refuse picked up on Thursday, Jan. 9; residents with Wednesday collection will have refuse picked up on Friday, Jan. 10; and residents with Thursday collection will have refuse picked up on Saturday, Jan. 11.

Please note: recycling will not be picked up this week. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation, normal service will resume next week."
