Plainfield Park Board Agenda: Term Limits, Another Meeting Location Change

Meeting will take place at the Heritage Professional Center in downtown Plainfield.

A week after a special meeting was quickly adjourned due to lack of a quorum, the Plainfield Park District board of commissioners is set to have its regular meeting.

The meeting, set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the Heritage Professional Center, 24023 W. Lockport St., includes an agenda item seeking the relocation and rescheduling of upcoming board of commissioners meetings.

Also scheduled for a vote is a resolution on terms of office for the park district. The board will get an update on the three referendum questions on the March 18 primary ballot; voters who went to the polls said yes to two-year term limits.

The agenda also calls for continued discussion on the creation of an independent ethics checklist and transparency checklist. Those issues were brought up at a March 4 meeting, but put on hold.

Finally, a name change is on the list of action items: commissioners will vote on whether to official change the name from "Plainfield Township Park District" to simply "Plainfield Park District."
