Plainfield Park District Relocates Meetings

For the rest of the year, meetings will be moved from the recreation/administration center to a downtown Plainfield building.

After a packed house at a May 28 meeting sparked Open Meetings Act complaints, the Plainfield Park District Board of Commissioners voted Wednesday to relocate park board meetings for the rest of 2013.

Instead of the recreation/administration center on Ottawa Street, meetings will now take place at the Heritage Professional Center, 24023 W. Lockport St., in the lower level. The building formerly housed the old First Midwest Bank in downtown Plainfield.

The park district has been leasing space at the professional building for its Great Adventures preschool program and programming for kids and adults since 2011.

The meetings are at 6 p.m. and are scheduled for the following dates:

  • Sept. 11
  • Oct. 9
  • Nov. 13
  • Dec. 11
