Public Hearing Tonight on Plans to Finish the Route 126 Interchange at I-55

The public will also be able to weigh in on a proposed plan to build a new I-55 interchange at Airport Road.

An open house on plans to add an Interstate 55 interchange at Airport Road and complete the I-55 interchange at Route 126/Essington Road will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at , 1050 W. Romeo Road.

 The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking public input on the proposed project, section of which will be located in the villages of Romeoville, Bolingbrook and Plainfield and in unincorporated Will County between the I-55 Weber Road and the U.S. 30 interchanges.

Romeoville, Bolingbrook and IDOT officials will provide information regarding the study schedule, federal review process and public involvement activities. Residents will be able to watch an audio-visual presentation, review exhibits, comment on the current and future needs and conditions along the corridor and meet with IDOT and study team members on a one-on-one basis.

The meeting will be accessible to the handicapped.
