Should He Stay or Should He Go? Argoudelis Mum on Supervisor Post

New county board member has says it's legal to hold both jobs, but he didn't respond to questions today about whether he will.

"I can keep it or resign, in which case the board will name a replacement per law," he told me in an e-mail last month.

As of this morning, Argoudelis either hasn't decided or he isn't saying.

"I'm pleased that the residents of District 5 have faith in my abilities to represent them honestly and well at the county board level," he responded to an e-mail this morning asking about his future as township supervisor.

Argoudelis' supervisor term won't end for another two and a half years – until April 2013. Last night, he won one of three open seats representing Will County Board District 5, which covers most of Plainfield.

Should he decide to step down, the township board will have to appoint another Republican to take the reins, Argoudelis said.

That leaves the field wide open. All four Plainfield Township Board trustees - Steve Cammack, Tony Fremarek, Ken McCafferty and Chuck Willard – are Republicans.
