With more than 1,300 votes cast, the readers have spoken.

We asked Patch readers to tell us what's the best bakery in Plainfield, Romeoville and Bolingbrook, and with 31 percent of the vote, Steve Buresh's Cheesecake Store is the big winner.

The online entrepreneur from Romeoville won out over second-place finisher Creative Cakes by Kerry, also of Romeoville, followed by Just Desserts of Bolingbrook and no. 4 Cathy's Sweet Creations of Plainfield.

Voting started Dec. 8 and ended Sunday night.

Buresh, who grew up in the restaurant business, takes orders online and sells his cheesecake creations in local restaurants. He turned his passion for cooking into a business after losing his job, and hasn't looked back.

“I’m a one-man cheesecake factory,” he told Patch in 2011.
