Romeoville Christian girls win and boys lose
The Lady Kingsmen of Romeoville Christian improved on their great start by defeating the visiting Families of Faith Christian Academy Eagles 41-25. Romeoville got ahead quickly due to a solid defensive first half limiting their opponents to only 5 points. Scoring was led by freshman Jessie Perez with 12. Junior captain Angelina Byers also chipped in 10 points. The Kingsmen dominated the glass bringing down a team total of 48 rebounds. Jessie Perez, Angelina Byers, and Lauren Johnson all contributed 8 rebounds. Casey Perez added 10 while all rebounders were led by junior Erica Ware with 13. This marks the fifth consecutive game in which Ware has had double digits in the rebound column. Romeoville will be in action again this Friday in Greyslake, IL when they take on Westlake Christian.
The Kingsmen dropped their first game after the Thanksgiving break. The Kingsmen hosted the Screaming Eagles of Families of Faith Christian Academy from Channahon. The Eagles led the entire way to defeat the Kingsmen by a score of 57-39. The Eagles came out strong and eager for a win while the Kingsmen were not ready for the challenge. The Kingsmen season record fell to 1-4. Poor rebounding combined with a numerous turnovers were the Achilles heel for the Kingsmen Tuesday night. Jake Janson had 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Robby Janson chipped in 10 for the Kingsmen. The Kingsmen have their next game scheduled for December 17.
