Mandatory Meeting Dates for Police Explorer Program

Mandatory meeting dates for the Police Explorer Program, aimed at individuals interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement, are scheduled for 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 and Thurday, May 24, at the Plainfield Police Department, 14300 S. Coil Plus Drive, Plainfield.

The explorer program offers training to give men and women ages 14 to 20 insign into the day-to-day activities of police officers, strengthen leadership skills and prepare for a future in law enforcement.

Anyone interested in becoming a Plainfield Police Explorer must complete an applicatoin, pass a background check and have permission from a parent. Explorers must also attend one of the informational meetings.

Applications are available during regular business hours at the Plainfield Police Deparmtent. High school students may also pick up applications from their respective school's school resource officer.
