Understanding and Coping with Job Search Stress

If you are in the middle of a job search, feeling shocked, powerless, anxious and depressed, we may be able to help you overcome that self-doubt with some steps to help you get refocused and back on track.

Join us at the Employment Ministry meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13 for tips on how to deal with the emotional and psychological impact of a job loss and subsequent search. We meet at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, in the Faith Sharing Room at 6:30 pm.

Our speaker, Dr. Ted Welsch, Psy. D., provides therapy for adults, adolescents, and families. Dr. Welsch helps his clients by providing a collaborative relationship with certain definable psychological attitudes that facilitate change. In his presentation, he will outline how job stress affects us physically and emotionally. Ted will also provide some strategies that will help you navigate this stress and function more effectively in your job search.

If you are new to networking, come at 6:30 pm for an introduction to networking tools like the Handbill and the Elevator Speech. At 7:00 pm, our program featuring Dr. Welsch will start. Later, you can work one-on-one with our coaches to improve your resume, to practice skills or expand your network. Bring copies of your handbill or resume.
