Lewis University Hosts RAD Camp for Kids

Lewis University in Romeoville will host its annual summer Recreational Activities Day (RAD) camp from 9 a.m. to noon each day of the following weeks: June 16-20, June 23-27 and July 21-25. 

The cost is $75 for each week of the camp. A $5 discount will be given to those who register for more than one week and another $5 discount for those who register multiple children.

Quality instruction, a fun learning environment, an ice cream social celebration and daily pool time are just some of the features of RAD Camp. Common camp activities include sand volleyball, basketball, soccer, dodge ball, relay races, handball, kickball and a walk through Lewis University’s nature trail. The camp is offered for kids ages 5-12.

Campers should come prepared with a tennis racquet, sunscreen, insect repellent, gym shoes, hat, swimsuit, towel, labeled water bottle and a lock each day. The ice cream social celebrations will take place at 11:30 a.m. on June 20, June 27 and July 25.

Registration will be held at 8 to 9 a.m. June 16, June 23 and July 21 in the Student Recreation and Fitness Center located on the university’s main campus in Romeoville.

Sponsored by Student Recreation, Fitness and Wellness, the camp is staffed by the Student Recreation and Fitness Center as well as students from the Lewis community. The staff is selected by their knowledge of activities, capacity to work well with children, and the ability to be positive role models.
