Plainfield East Crushes Competition, Crowned Battle of the Fans Champion

With 65 percent of the vote, PEHS easily knocked off last year's victor Warren Township and two other schools.

The "Orange Crush" have lived up to their name, demolishing the competition and walking away with the champion title in Comcast's 2nd Annual Battle of the Fans Madness.

supporters cast , handily topping last year's winner Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Glenbard East in Lombard and Huntley High School.

With the victory comes the crown, in this case a Battle of the Fans banner that can be displayed at the school.

It seems fitting that PEHS should take the top honors this year, given that the boys basketball team finished with a record 27-2 season and took conference and regional championships. Coach Branden Adkins was just named the Class 3A/4A coach of the year by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.

Plainfield East fared well in last years's competition as well, but ultimately 's "Crimson Crazies" went further, making it to the final four before losing to Warren Township.
