Promotions OK'd for Two District 202 Administrators

Christy Ernst is Plainfield Central's new director of student services and Ron Lear is the new athletic director at Plainfield North.

The school board has promoted two staff members to new positions.

special administrator Christy Ernst was named the new director for student services and assistant athletic director Ron Lear was promoted to athletic director, replacing Doug Stevens, who resigned in March.

Ernst, who started her education career in 1979, has also served in special education at Plainfield North High School, Ira Jones and Indian Trail middle schools and Crystal Lawns Elementary School. She has worked as the Plainfield High School – Central Campus special education administrator since 2010.

She will be the sole director in the Student Services department, which administers special education programming. As a result of budget cuts this winter, two other director positions were eliminated.

Lear, who began his education career in 2000, came to District 202 in 2005 as an assistant athletic director and physical education and health teacher at Plainfield North High School. He has also coached girls bowling at the school and has coached girls and boys varsity soccer at Morris High School.
