Crystal Lawns Elementary School Principal Dr. Kathy Baxter (with plaque) received the Elizabeth "Bess" Eichelberger Distinguished Service Award for her 40-year education career in District 202 as part of the Board of Education's 22nd Annual Awards of Excellence ceremony on April 15. Baxter taught fifth grade at Crystal Lawns for 19 years and has served as Crystal Lawns' principal the last 21 years.
The Eichelberger Award is named for Bess Eichelberger, a District 202 icon renowned for her extensive community service, including 26 years as a Board of Education member.
